This camp would expose our youngest performers to familiar folktales and give them the chance to learn improv skills as they retell a tale each day. Each day would end with a short performance of that day’s focus folktale.

Our youngest actors will have the opportunity to play a small part in a large-scale show. They will learn key performance skills such as being aware of the audience and acting with their face and bodies.

Grades 4th-6th
Meets: 10:00am – 2:00pm
Students will read through familiar fairytales and then work together to write and perform their own script that combines various elements from some of their favorite stories.

Grades 7th-12th
Meets: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Students will analyze the Hero’s Journey. They will look at examples from Greek Mythology and write their own Hero’s Journey script and perform it.

Meets: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Actors will have the opportunity to be a part of a large-scale production. Students could be cast as leads or divided into ensemble groups where they will be in charge of mastering specific scenes, songs, or dances.
Performance: TBD (weekend of July 26-28)

Intro: Students will be introduced to basic sewing principles and learn how to use a sewing machine to make a simple project. Students will also have the opportunity to learn from our Costume Design Team and help them create pieces for the shows.
Intermediate: Students should already be familiar with the basics of sewing and know how to use a sewing machine. They will be tasked with various costume projects for Madagascar Jr. and other summer productions.

Meets: 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Students will learn from Costume, Makeup, Lighting, Sound, and Set Designers. The will create show pieces, learn about behind the scene operations, and have the opportunity to work tech for Madagascar Jr. or You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.
Class Limit: This class is FULL.
Cost: $200, scholarships available
Meets: 2pm-8pm daily
Audition based.
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is part of our Encore Program. The goal of the Encore program is designed to equip performers with a professional acting experience and help them grow as actors depending on their needs. There is a fee to participate in this opportunity.
Auditions: Tuesday, June 18th at 6pm
Performances: July 27-29
