Let’s Play!!!

Have you ever thought, “Man, rehearsals can be so intense.  We never have time to just play.”  Then, this is the experience for you.  We are going to play all kinds of theatre games.  Games that will grow us as actors, that will help us project, that will enhance our enunciation, that will help us be better team players, grow our imaginations.  The biggest goal of this experience is to spend time with our friends and have fun.  Bring your energy, a bottle of water, and a snack.

Curious about tap.  Join this experience for a light introduction into the energizing artform.  Learn the history of tap, discuss tap numbers on Broadway, develop basic tap steps, play fun rhythm games, create and perform a tap combo with a group of peers, learn a basic Newsies tap combo.  Tap shoes are preferred, but not required.  In the absence of tap shoes, use a hard soled shoe (Vans and converse work well, but they will get scuffed).  Dress comfortable in workout clothes, and bring a bottle of water!

Introduction to Technical Theatre Design

Come with a show or a story you would love to create the world for.  Then, we are going to consider and design many elements that go into making a production come to life: set design, lighting design, make-up and hair design, sound design, and more.  Participants will be creating inspiration boards and will present these boards to one another and possibly guardians the last thirty minutes of the day.  If students choose to design for an upcoming show here at Muncie Civic Theatre, their ideas will be shared with the production team for that show.  Bring a show idea, a lunch, and a water bottle.
