“MORE THAN A SONG” Voice Classes for Musical Theatre 

Grades 3-6:  – In this class, we will focus on not only how to sing, but how to sing as the character one is portraying. We will sing from great music selections including songs from ShrekAladdin and The Greatest Showman.  The class will be tailored to the needs of the students in the class, working as a group and individually.

Grades 7-12: For this class we will focus on how to portray one’s character while singing with proper technique, articulation, facial expression and more. We will sing from  exciting musical theatre selections including HairsprayNewsies, and Mean Girls.   The class will be tailored to the needs of the students in the class.  Students will work on techniques together and individually in order to hone skills needed to feel more comfortable as singer/actor on stage.

FUNdamentals of Dance in Musical Theatre 

In these classes, we will explore and familiarize students with basic dance terminology and movement in its relation to musical theatre. Students will also study various styles of dance and learn choreography from musicals such as HamiltonMean GirlsHairsprayChicagoAnything Goes and many more!

Acting–  Story Making Magic

The focus of the series is to provide space to collaborate and create meaningful connection through story creations.  The children will develop original stories both individually, with partners, and small groups.  Utilizing a variety of expressive and performing arts techniques (including role-play and scene work); the workshop series will primarily utilize a drama therapy tool known as the 6 Part Story Method (6PSM) to provide opportunities for youth members to enhance creativity, gain insight and perspective, explore problem-solving techniques, foster resilience, and build self-esteem.
