Readers Theatre:
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas! 

Students will learn how to act using their bodies, facial expressions, and the voices through a style of theatre known as Reader’s Theatre.  Actors will bring Dr. Seuss’ story of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas to life.

IMPROVapalooza!!!

Ready to think on your feet and create hilarious moments!  Then, you are ready to experience the unpredictable theatrical form of improv.  This experience will serve as an introduction to Improv.  We will work together to create scenes, play games, and compete in teams for points (even though they won’t really matter.)  Come ready to take risks and bring your water bottles!

Perusing Plays for Middle School And High School Performers

Wondering what shows you might see on stage next?  Well, your Education Director needs help seeing which scripts are worthy of being brought to life on our stage.  In this experience, we will read up to a half dozen plays followed by a discussion about the pros and cons of each production.  Participants should be confident readers.  Possible scripts to be explored: The Giver, The Pinballs, Seussification of Romeo and Juliet, Little Women, Peter Pan and Wendy, A Play Goes Wrong

Perusing Plays for Younger Ages

Now Presenting: Little Red Robin Hood

Not ready to meet with people in person, but still wanting to put on a show.  This may be the perfect fit.  Participants will be taking the familiar stories of Little Red Riding Hood and Robin Hood and create a mashed up script for them.  Their script will then be performed via Zoom!  This will be a two week intensive process, but you won’t even need to leave your home.  The first four meetings will focus on developing the script and the remaining four will focus on rehearsing to have an amazing final product.

More than a Song Virtual Winter Session:  Singing and Acting at its best! 

Are you getting tired of being inside and want to try something new?  Do you want to work on your singing and acting skills in a non threatening format? Do you want to gain more confidence and skill at singing and performing?   If you answered yes to any of these questions, then More Than a Song Virtual Winter session is for you!  Students will meet as a group weekly to learn techniques together and encourage one another in a non threatening environment.  Students will then have 4-8  individual twenty minute virtual sessions with the instructor to hone personal singing and acting skills at their own pace.  This experience ends with a zoom recital that all family members are welcome to join.

Recommended for Grades 3-adults

When: January 25  – February 19, Group Meetings, January 25, February 1, 8 and 15, from 6:30 – 7:30 via zoom.  Final recital will be February 19 at 6:30 Via Zoom.  Individual sessions will be scheduled after registration is complete.
